Theta

Below is a summary of the work done by the first two classes after the re-founding B-section.  For their project, they chose to fix up one of the rooms in the house that needed some TLC, Theta.  Following the summary are some pictures as well as a youtube link to a video.  The project will be finished sometime in early 2012.

The first thing that was done was completely gutting the room. Taking everything off the walls including shelves, hooks, etc.  Next, the carpeting came out.  After taping off the walls they were painted with stripes, while the sleeping area was painted black.  Tom Peters’ mom was kind enough to help and paint a purple theater style set of curtains on the wall which look amazing!  A screen was also made for the projector on that same wall.  Some furniture was reused and situated different, while other furniture was bought to keep the same look.  Tile was laid on about half the room, while the other half will have carpet.  Old record covers line the room acting as a crown molding and borders for the lofted sleeping area.  A black diamond was constructed out of the unused records, and put on one of the walls.  Before time ran out this term the last thing done was a chair and a table was placed up top in the loft area for some more uniqueness.

Things to do spring term:
Replace the carpet
Install the projector
