Vince Ferro

Vince Ferro (Class of 2004)from Highland, MI, is currently employed at McNaughton-McKay
Electric Company in Madison Heights, MI. He started there as a Computer Engineering Co-
Op when he started at Kettering University and continued to work there after graduation. Vince
works as a Systems’ Engineer designing factory automation control systems. In his free time,
he enjoys to play hockey, spend time with his family, and keep his computer programming
skills sharp, teaching himself how to write applications for the Google Android smartphones.
He remembers becoming interested in the FIJI house because he was looking for something
different. The rest of his unit went Delta Tau Delta, but Vince played hockey with Lyle Dodge,
who helped introduce Vince to FIJI and later because his Big B. Vince was the 3rd (Gamma)
class since the most recent refounding of A section and he was excited to take advantage of
the great leadership opportunities offered by helping reestablish the house on campus. As an
undergrad, he served the house as Graduate Relations, Corresponding Secretary, and President.
Some of his best memories of the house are going to IHQ in Kentucky for the class younger than
his, Delta, to get initiated, driving down to New Orleans in a Geo Metro with his pledge brothers,
jousting on mini bikes in the hallway, and countless other fun adventures around the house.
Since graduating, he has kept in regular contact with most of the brothers in the first few classes
of the refounded A section, meeting with them for a few beers or a party every now and then. He
is also a member of the BCA, serving as a secretary for their meetings, and helping it grow to
better serve the undergraduate chapter. Also, as Vince likes to put it, he has donated more than
any other graduate brother to the house because he has donated his mom! His mom, Sandy, is
currently the house cook, and we certainly appreciate all the hard work Sandy does for the house.
Vince’s time in the house helped build his leadership skills through the positions he held and
things like FIJI Academy. So many of the skills he learned through the house has benefited both
his life and career, and he treasures the lifelong friendships he has made. We are proud to call
men like Vince our brother in Phi Gamma Delta!
